I didn't want to have to do this, but it is my sad duty to add to this page...

Frank Gasperik passed away Thursday, the 3rd of May at approximately 9:13 PM.

I first met Frank at some Con or other (Coppercon or Leprecon probably) about 20 years ago. It's all a bit hazy now, it was a long time ago and I was hammered. Much later, I ran into him again on larryniven-l, back when it was hosted by Bucknell University.

What can I say about Frank? He could be an obstinate SOB. He was a intelligent, witty, very clever guy -- just type his name into Google and have a look for yourself. And, he was a very dear friend, even if he was wrong about all those arguments we had.

I consider him one of my best friends. I can't believe that I won't be able to log on to irc.larryniven.org and talk to him, that I won't see him the next time I am in Phoenix (which we had planned), or that my life will be the same again.

Here's to you, Frank! I love you, and I'll miss you. We all will.

Peggy Gasperik

I never met Peggy Gasperik, but I wish I'd had the privilege. I see the wonderful person she was, and always will be, reflected in her husband Frank, and her friends whom I have met.

I wish I had known her better.

These pages are to commemorate their lives, and the love they had of their friends, and they of them. Under this text is a page of remembrance of Frank and Peggy, where you can leave your recollections.

Also, Euan has a small photo gallery of Peggy and Frank, and we have one here. In addition, the transcript of the IRC memorial service that we held in her memory.

Description: I'm remembering a trip Peggy and Frank and I made to watch the Shuttle land. It was my first experience of the Shuttle-landing-watcher parties. I loved it. Peggy was good company.

Description: Nicely done, very nicely done. Wish I had something more to contribute to this, but I only knew her through Frank's postings on the list. From those, however, one could easily tell she was a good and special person. I'd like to have met her.
